I started doing Pilates Matwork 22 years ago, in 2000, I fell in love with this method with the connection mind and body focusing on the movements. Understanding and appreciating that I needed focus, listening  and imagery  cues to get the group of muscles work properly and congruency,  so the movements flow from one to the next as if they are one complete movement. This blew my mind and made me feel good and strong.

I started Pilates in Chile with my fitness teacher who was always looking for new methods and practices  to improve body and wellbeing. A couples of years later, (2002) I moved to Brazil where I lived for two years travelling and living in small villages where I could not find a Pilates teacher anywhere. But I did not give up and I bought my first Pilates book where I was able to have a deeper understanding of the method and why Pilates uses especific breathing techniques for instance and all the principals that govern the correct execution of Pilates exercises. The more I study the more I appreciated this unique method and why we do them. This period of my life sculptured the basis of what I am teaching today..
When I returned to Chile, I started working for a bank finally making use of my Business Engineer degree, but I was pretty much behind a desk sitting down in front of a computer for at least 8 hours a day. I could not continue this routine so I decided to joined a Pilates Class so at lunch break 3 times per week I had my fix. I could see how my energy and my posture infront of the computer changed after my Pilates classes and feeling so empowered. It was such a liberating experience each time that I started getting deeper into practice and much more interested in the effects on my body and mind than what was happening at the bank.

So in 2008, after almost five  years working behind a desk, I decided to make my dreams come true and I decided to make my way to Australia to first learn English in order to get my Pilates certificate later on... I did Pilates with different teachers in which, I learnt different tecniques to teach. I had to face and deal with many obstacles to accomplish what I had started. But regardless I did not want to waist any time, I decided to learn and educate myself with more knowledge and techniques to gain my qualifications. In 2012,  I got my first Pilates Certifiacte in the Australia Pilates Academy. In 2013 I got my Pre and Post Natal Pilates Certificate with the same Academy while being pregnant with my second child. From then on, I have been teaching Pilates Matwork untill today.

In 2019 I decided to extend my knowledge in Pilates Rehabilitation which I am passionate in. I completed the Comprehensive Pilates course with Polestar Pilates, Which consists of an in depth master over of 130 pilates exercises across a full spectrum of apparatuses, including Reformer, Trapeze Table, Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector and props.

By learning and updating a comprehensive repertory of movement techniques, with the most appropriate principles of biomechanics, kinesiology,  motor learning and advanced body awareness that will aid in the clinical reasoning process to helping my clients to recovery for their injuries.

I love it...  Claudia
